Christian Worldview of History Discussion
Discussion Thread: A Christian Worldview of History

A
Christian worldview of history is important to not only understanding
God in certain ways, but his creation in general. We as human beings are
created in the image of God and were created to have dominion over this
planet, a Christian worldview into history allows us to study Gods
creation in depth, as well as find credible evidence for the events of
the Bible. When viewing history through a Christian worldview one can
realize the danger of sin and how it could affect the work of a
historian as well.
Having a Christian worldview while studying history is important to me because it allows me to better understand human beings which are apart of Gods creation. It helps me better understand the nature of human beings and the sins that unfortunately control us. Viewing history through a Biblical lens also helps me understand my own sinful nature and how it could affect my work as a historian. Because of our sinful nature we could try and twist history to fit our own selfish views or simply to try and prove someone else wrong, there are many possibilities which is why having a Christian worldview as a historian is important. It can instill a strong sense of morality and integrity in the historian which can help keep history accurate.
It is also important to understand the value of having a Christian worldview of history, with this a person can search for genuine evidence of the life and death of Christ, the flood, and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. A Christian historian can help provide important evidence for proving the Biblical stories and people to be real.
